Sunshine is pleased to announce our Russia Program!
We are delighted to be working as partners with an
accredited agency.  Russia is the most active program for
Caucasian children in international adoption.
WHY CHOOSE TO ADOPT FROM RUSSIA
Children are available for adoption in Russia from 9 months of age up to 15 years old. Orphans in
Russia are required to remain on a registry for domestic adoption for at least 6 months prior to being
released for international adoption. Every child who is available for adoption from Russia resides in an
orphanage and is a ward of the Russian government. The two groups of children typically available for
adoption are babies relinquished in the hospital at birth to the state and then placed in an orphanage,
and older children who are removed from their families because of neglect, abuse or other
circumstances and placed in an orphanage.
There are many beautiful boys available for adoption. Sibling groups and unrelated children are
available for adoption at the same time. In general children are without medical problems. Special
needs children and sibling groups are also available. Children are referred immediately. Medical
information and photos are provided for every referral, if possible. We work in many regions and
various orphanages. In the orphanages, the children receive specialized care from doctors and nurses.
The Russia adoption process begins by collecting documents,
which will comprise your Russian Dossier. It typically takes 1 to 3
months to complete a Russia adoption Dossier. Once the
documents have been collected, prospective parents will submit
the adoption dossier to Sunshine International. Sunshine
International will forward your Dossier to the Russian Associates
for translation and notarized in Russia, prior to it being presented
to the Russian authorities.  When a child becomes available, we
will be presented with a referral, which will immediately be passed
along to you. Based on information available in the region, you will
most likely receive photos of a child along with medical
information. If you are adopting a sibling group, you will receive
information regarding the siblings. Upon acceptance of the referral
you will complete a Referral Acceptance Form. If, for some
reason, you decide not to accept a referral we will work with you
until a referral is presented that is right for your family.
Sunshine International has a graduated payment plan, so you do not have to pay for the whole
adoption at one time.  We have a Fee Schedule outlining the payment schedule based on each stage of
your adoption.
